• Smoothening rough parts and surface scratches on the whetstone
• Create an abrasive slurry that speeds up grinding and polishes the edge
• Cleaning the stone after use from black marks left from the blade

Make sure you always soak it before use and use it on soaked stones. Leave it to dry well before storage!
